Spectra Community Support Services provides anonymous, confidential distress and emotional support lines for anyone who needs a caring, compassionate and non-judgmental listening ear. Our English distress lines are open 24 hours of the day, 7 days of the week, and 365 days of the year. We are here to listen whenever you need us.

Our services are confidential, easy to access, non-judgemental and are totally free. Many people don't feel comfortable sharing sensitive, confidential issues with family and friends. At times, they prefer to work through their options with an impartial listener. Some have nowhere else to turn and sometimes all that is needed is information about community resources. Our Distress Line Service aims to:
- Minimize potential harm to all parties involved, using active listening and crisis intervention techniques
- Encourage discussion on the level of feelings
- Reduce isolation where the extended family support network has been broken down
- Make the appropriate community referral
- Give emotional 'first aid’ to the caller
- Empower the caller to cope with specific aspects of his/her life
- Let the caller know that there are people who care and want to listen to what they have to say
* Population Served: Anyone over the age of 18 years living in Mississauga, Brampton and Caledon who is going through a difficult situation or needs listening support and/or is experiencing mental or physical health issues, social isolation, loss, relationship problems, stress, crisis, or abuse can call Spectra Community Support Services' distress lines.
